While Dr. Montgomery's practice is primarily dedicated to children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 4-25), she is board-certified in adult psychiatry and welcomes a limited number of adult patients between the ages of 26 and 59.

Dr. Montgomery evaluates and treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including:

The initial appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to understand your or your child's concerns, strengths, and goals. Dr. Montgomery will review current symptoms, medical and developmental history, family history, previous treatment, and how symptoms are affecting daily life at home, school, work, and in relationships.

For children and adolescents, both the parent(s) or guardian(s) and the child participate in the evaluation. Depending on the child's age and needs, portions of the visit may be conducted together and separately. School records, rating scales, and records from other providers may also be reviewed when appropriate.

At the end of the evaluation, Dr. Montgomery will discuss diagnostic impressions, answer questions, and develop an individualized treatment plan, which may include medication, therapy recommendations, school accommodations, or additional evaluation when appropriate.

Yes. Medication is recommended only when clinically appropriate and is always discussed collaboratively with patients and families. When prescribed, medication is integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that may also include therapy, school supports, lifestyle interventions, and collaboration with other providers.

Medication management appointments include brief psychotherapy and counseling when appropriate. Patients who would benefit from ongoing psychotherapy may also be referred to a trusted therapist so care can be coordinated.

Yes. Telepsychiatry appointments are available for many follow-up visits for patients located in New Jersey.
